No, it’s there, but I’m developing the sense that incest and taboo desires worked through family connections are a necessary part of the Gothic/Victorian novel.

And I would agree, but I think it’s something of the context in which she’s in that just makes it appear that she loves early modern books above all others. Actually, she keeps pulling out my French-English dictionary. I wonder if this means anything…
